Extract from the Clare Champion report of 3rd March 1947 on an-inter county match between Clare and Wicklow. “ Peter Daly was responsible for many of Clare’s scores and his solo runs were a treat to watch”

In June 1947, Peter Daly was on the Senior Team and Noel Conway was on the Minor team when Clare recorded a double victory over Limerick.
Peter Daly scored 5 points – 2 from frees. “He was the pivot of the forward movements, with his good judgement and long kicking.”

July 1947 brought a double defeat for Clare, both teams were beaten. Noel Conway was on the Minor team and Peter Daly and Tommy Galvin were on the Senior team.

In August Kilmihil were beaten in Junior A Football by Carrigaholt.
The score was:- Carrigaholt 3-7 Kilmihil 1-3

In September Kilmihil were beaten by Killimer in the Junior A semi final.
