Senior Championship

In the first round/quarter-final of the Senior Championship Kilmihil met Cooraclare and an injury time point by Ollie Breen earned Kilmihil a replay. The game ended Kilmihil 0-9, Cooraclare 1-6. Aided by the breeze in the first half Kilmihil took a two point lead with points from Damien Devine & Gerry Downes before Cooraclare responded with a goal. Kilmihil had two further points to lead at half time 0-4 to 1-0. Cooraclare took the lead early in the second half but the sides were level at 1-5 to 0-8 before Cooraclare again took the lead. Kilmihil tried hard to get back on level terms and were rewarded when Ollie Breen scored the equalizer.

Alan Daly, Brendan Browne & Declan O’Shea were impressive in defence and up front Damien Devine & Ollie Breen were the best of the forwards.

In the replay Cooraclare emerged victorious on the score of 2-5 to 1-7. The sides were level at 1-3 each at half time. With seven minutes remaining Kilmihil were awarded a penalty which yielded a point when they needed a goal and this proved costly in the end when they lost by a point.

Cusack Cup

Kilmihil did not have a good run in the Cup and failed to qualify for the play off stage.

U16A

Kilmihil won the U16A Championship when they defeated Eire Og 1-9 to 1-5.

Eire Og led at half time 1-5 to 0-1 but Kilmihil completely dominated the second half and held Eire Og scoreless in the process.

Outstanding for Kilmihil were John Normoyle, Leonard O’Halloran, Dermot Haugh, Fergal Killoughrey, Brendan Coen who scored five points, Fergal Duggan, Enda O’Halloran & Sean O’Neill.
