Senior Football Championship
Kilmihil were beaten by Ennis Faughs in the first round of the Senior Championship on 17th May 1953. Kilmihil we first to score with a point from Michael Collins but then Faughs took control and led at half time 1-3 to 0-2. Halfway through the second half Collins scored a goal for Kilmihil to leave just a goal between the sides but the Faughs held out to win. Final score: Faughs 2-4 Kilmihil 1-4.

Best for Kilmihil were Michael Collins and Dan Finucane.

Junior Championship
In June, Kilmihil met Cranny in the first round of the Junior Championship. Playing with the wind in the first half Cranny built up a score of 2-5 to no score. On the change over Kilmihil scored in the first minute and although they played some nice football they missed several scoring chances, including a penalty saved by the Cranny goalkeeper. The final score was:- Cranny 2-6 Kilmihil 2-3.

Intermediate Championship
In September Cahermurphy drew with Kilfenora in the Intermediate Championship.
Cahermurphy were first the score with a point from P. Mc Namara and went further ahead when a free by Collins struck the upright and came back to him and he scored a goal. Kilfenora responded with a goal and two points to give them a one point lead at half time. Two minutes into the second half Browne levelled for Cahermurphy. In the dying moments of the game Kilfenora were awarded a free which was converted to level the scores. The final score was: Cahermurphy 1-6 Kilfenora 2-3.
In the replay Kilfenora dominated the play and scored two points before Cahermurphy had settled. Michael Collins scored the opening point from a free and followed it with another point from play to level the scores. Kilfenora replied with a point from a free but Collins scored a goal to leave the half time score: Cahermurphy 1-2, Kilfenora 0-3
Cahermurphy dominated the second half and scored six points without reply.
Final Score: Cahermurphy 1-8 Kilfenora 0-3.

In the Intermediate Semi-Final Cahermurphy were beaten by Lisdoonvarna.
Play opened with Cahermurphy pressing from the throw in, and in the first minute opened the scoring with a point by Browne. This was followed by a number of wides before Lisdoonvarna responded with two points. In the second half Lisdoonvarna added three further points but bad marksmanship by Cahermurphy saw many scoring chances missed Final Score: Lisdoonvarna 0-5 Cahermurphy 0-3

Cusack Cup
In the Cusack Cup Kilmihil suffered heavy defeats to Lisdoonvarna (3-4 to 0-2) and Kilfenora (5-6 to 1-5).

Minor B
On 18th October 1953, Kilmihil contested the Minor B Final against Lisdoonvarna.
Lisdoonvarna dominated the opening exchanges and scored 1-1 before Kilmihil replied with a point from Currane and two from Cooney to leave the half time score
at 1-1 to 0-3. Lisdoonvarna were first to score in the second half and Finucane replied with a point for Kilmihil. However from here on Lisdoonvarna dominated completely scoring two 2-4 without reply.
Final score: Lisdoonvarna 3-6 Kilmihil 0-4.
